Last night I had a hot date with a cute boy to see The Hunger Games movie. It’s no secret that I LOVED the books. I didn’t get into Harry Potter or Twighlight, so I’m giving myself a pass on this one. Since I don’t get to go to the movies with Andy very often, I wanted to wear something fun and pretty for the occasion. We are on a tight budget right now, gearing up to put our house on the market, so I looked to my good friend Target to help me out. I am currently obsessed with nail polish so I gave myself a quickie manicure before we headed out.
I am no authority on style and fashion, that’s for sure. Most of the time I can be found in yoga pants and a t-shirt of some kind. I work from home and have a one-year-old, so practicality is king when it comes to my wardrobe. I have also been on a quest to lose weight (down 40 pounds, woot!) so I don’t want to invest a lot of money in clothes I (hopefully) won’t be wearing this time next year. I’m interested in fashion, though, and I want to get better at choosing flattering clothes for myself and finding accessories that add a little zip.
So here are my choices for my Hunger Games date with a few substitutions for things I already owned or couldn’t find online.
Wishful Thinking Necklace from Shop Rouche, Vintage Topaz ring (my mama’s birthstone), Kimono sleave dress from Target, Turquoise and gold wrap braclet (I got mine at World Market but it isn’t available online), Essie polish in Merino Cool, Mossimo Colorblock pink envelope clutch from Target, Mossimo Winifred sandal in Luggage
