Hunger Games Style

Last night I had a hot date with a cute boy to see The Hunger Games movie.  It’s no secret that I LOVED the books.  I didn’t get into Harry Potter or Twighlight, so I’m giving myself a pass on this one.  Since I don’t get to go to the movies with Andy very often, I wanted to wear something fun and pretty for the occasion.  We are on a tight budget right now, gearing up to put our house on the market, so I looked to my good friend Target to help me out. I am currently obsessed with nail polish so I gave myself a quickie manicure before we headed out.

I am no authority on style and fashion, that’s for sure. Most of the time I can be found in yoga pants and a t-shirt of some kind.  I work from home and have a one-year-old, so practicality is king when it comes to my wardrobe.  I have also been on a quest to lose weight (down 40 pounds, woot!) so I don’t want to invest a lot of money in clothes I (hopefully) won’t be wearing this time next year.   I’m interested in fashion, though, and I want to get better at choosing flattering clothes for myself and finding accessories that add a little zip.

So here are my choices for my Hunger Games date with a few substitutions for things I already owned or couldn’t find online.
