I'm a little late getting my January Birchbox review posted seeing as my March box will be shipping in a few days. Whoops! What can I say, I'm a procrastinator.
First of all, I'm still LOVING getting the birchbox every month. It's my favorite mail by far. My only complaint is I seem to get mine a couple days after everyone else I know so I'm not usually as surprised by its contents :-(.
This month I got some lovely things.
Viva La Juicy Fragrance: Choosing a fragrance is tricky business for me. I have some weird skin chemistry that turns certain types of scents sour. Boo. Juicy was ok on me, but not my favorite scent. Victoria Secret's Dream Angels Halo, is my favorite scent, just in case you were wondering. But they only carry it twice a year. Double boo.
ZOYA Polish in Kendel: This polish is a part of the Feel Collection. I love ZOYA polish for lots of reasons, but mostly because it lasts such a long time. They also have a lovely color selection. It goes on thin and not too gloopy (that's a word, right?) to dry quickly (my major complaint for OPI and China Glaze polish) but still has good coverage. Depending on the color, sometimes you only need one coat. This shade isn't my very favorite, but I like it well enough for every-once-in-a-while.
'witchcraft Granola: Not a fan. Tasted a bit too "earthy" for my taste. Think crunchy dirt.
FIX Malibu The Works: I like this cream a lot, but I don't $70 like it. If you have patchy skin and need something to smoothen your skin before you apply foundation this is great. I really liked using it, but $70 is a bit out of my price range since I already spend $$$ on prescription skin-care products.
Algenist Firming and Lifting Cream: While I'm not *quite* old enough for saggy neck skin, it's never to soon for a little ounce of prevention, right? I used the cream and I loved how soft and smooth it made my skin, but I'm gonna be honest, I didn't $94 love it. Andy has promised to love me and my saggy neck if he can keep his $94. Fair enough.

A few weeks ago we hosted a party to celebrate the one whole year our little Lu has been roaming around this planet. We had a lovely time making it look as though a rainbow exploded in our house. Lucy had so much fun playing with all the little people that came (she's still a bit shy of the big people), and chowing down on her first ever cupcake. It has been such a wonderful pleasure to have watched our little girl go from a sweet newborn to a michevious toddler these past twelve months. We love her so very much. To those of you who came to help us celebrate, thank you for filling our teeny tiny house with lots of love and laughter. We love you too.
XOXO, Team Soell
If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, I'm sure you have gathered by now that I am completely and totally obsessed with Instagram. I LOVE it. Like, LOVE LOVE it. 4-EVA. This past weekend we loaded up Team Soell minus Gus and the kitties and headed to Philadelphia for a little visit. We've been wanting to explore the city for a while and so we decided a little trip for my upcoming birthday was in order. Lucy travels like a pro and handled the eight hour drive so well. I decided to leave the Big Camera in it's case and captured our trip mostly via iPhone.
Our Hotel was in the Rittenhouse square area and we spent time mostly exploring the Bella Vista and Queen Village Neighborhoods. We didn't really get to any of the touristy historical stuff, I guess we'll have to go back soon!
We enjoyed our trip so much. The weather was beautiful, we got the chance to meet up with some local friends, and ate some really delicious food. A weekend well spent.
Coffee We Loved: Shot Tower
Desinations We Loved: Italian Market
Yesterday I made the grave mistake of drinking coffee after 12:00 PM. Being particularly sensative to caffeine, I should definitely know better, but I was feeling like I needed a boost to get my ass to the gym and Andy was making his afternoon coffee so....well, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Bed time comes, I take my nightly melatonin, and it makes me just drowsy enough to dose off but not really sleep deeply. I have a vague recollection of waking up, hunting down my phone, and pulling up a shop website I had been eyeing all day. Turns out they accept PayPal so after a few clicks, I had a full cart and I didn't even have to get out of bed to grab my credit card. Apparently I sleep shop now. Awesome. The things I bought I ended up still liking this morning so I guess all's well that ends well.
The shop I was obsessing over all day yesterday is Shop Rouche, a lovely vintage inspired online botique with beautiful clothes and jewelry and cute things for the home too. I'm in love with almost everything in their store. These are some of my favorites.
